Autumn Hair Trends - Your Way!
Updated: Oct 22

As the seasons change, it's always nice to give your hair a little refresh! We're now moving into autumn, and as a new season approaches, you might be thinking about a whole new look for your hair.
But there's no need to go all out to make a change. Let's talk about some of the key trends for Autumn 2026, and how they can inspire some smaller adjustments to refresh your hair.
And remember that the best trend will always be one that works for you!
Autumn Colours
The easiest way to refresh your hair is changing up the colour. Autumn is all about those gorgeous glossy deep and warm colours, but remember that this doesn't have to necessarily mean darker hair.
For example, if you're blonde, you might want to ask your colourist or hairdresser for some more golden tones in your hair to give a more seasonal look. And if you prefer more low-maintenance colour, you can chat to your hairdresser about a softer blend at your roots or swapping to lowlights instead of highlights.
Autumn Haircuts & Styles
Autumn 2026 hair is all about movement, bounce, and softness. It means embracing more of a natural look rather than hair that looks styled.
Layers are one of the easiest ways to add movement to your hair without making huge and drastic changes. Introducing layers is a great way to bring some lightness and movement to your hair, especially if your hair is thick or feels heavy.
And if you're looking for a bigger change, bobs are huge at the moment, especially more modern bobs that aren't perfectly sleek and that look more natural. The key is picking a length and shape that will complement you and your lifestyle - your hairdresser will absolutely be able to help with this!
Or maybe you're thinking about a fringe this autumn? A fringe can be a brilliant way of changing your hairstyle without a huge transformation.
Before asking your hairstylist for a fringe, think about your natural hair growth - how frequently would you want it to be trimmed? How much time do you want to spend styling it? If you're not 100% ready to commit, you can always experiment with some face framing layers instead.
Looking After Your Hair
One trend that will always be in is having healthy hair! After all, your colour and haircut are only part of the hair health picture - how you care for it at home after your appointment is also hugely important.
How you look after your hair in the colder months will be very different to how you look after it in the spring and summer. Increased heat styling, scarves and hats, heating, damp...all of these can leave your hair feeling dry and frizzy.
So as we go into colder weather, you can try introducing a nourishing treatment into your haircare routine and making sure that you've got a shampoo and conditioner that is suited to your hair's individual needs. If you're prone to tangling, you may think about investing in a new brush. Keeping up with regular trims will help a lot too, as will using heat protection before using hairdryers and other heated tools.

My biggest piece of advice when thinking about trends? Don't pick something just because it looks amazing on someone else!
When making any decision, you might want to consider the following:
Your lifestyle. How much time do you want to spend styling your hair and looking after your hair?
Your hair type. Everyone's hair behaves in a very different way! Is your hair fine or thick? Curly or straight?
Your colour history. What colours has your hair been previously? How does it react to bleaching? Your stylist will be able to advise you on what is achievable for your hair.
Maintenance. What kind of routine are you happy maintaining? Would you be happy and able to visit your salon more frequently if you have a higher maintenance style or colour?
Hopefully this has given you lots of inspiration for how you want to change your hair up for the upcoming season!
It doesn't have to mean a dramatic transformation, maybe you're feeling curious about a different colour or wondering about adding layers to your next cut. Or perhaps you're thinking about different products you can add in to keep your hair looking healthy during the colder months.
A reminder that your colourist and stylist will be able to work with you to make changes that suit your hair and your routine. So gather your inspiration photos and make that appointment!
